Deep Tissue Massage
While Swedish massage is a series of light strokes to relax the person receiving; deep tissue at the time of treatment is not quite as relaxing, but very effective at attacking the deep aches and pains from muscle tension. The pain can be described as "the good hurt" and may cause deep breathing and sweating, but is well worth it in the end when you peel yourself off the table and feel the relief of that crick or muscle twinge released. Afterward you may feel some soreness and some bruising but it will be minor. Sessions offered are about 90 min long and it can be very intense treatment, deep tissue is not for everyone

Trigger Point Treatment

TPT is similar to Deep Tissue, but it focuses on just the specific points of the muscle that hold tension. In laypersons terms it is the knots you feel in your muscles. Direct pressure is applied to each point, several for each muscle and through the pressure the knot releases leaving the muscle belly feeling relaxed. These sessions are only about an hour long and intense, there may be some bruising and soreness after. This is natural and will disapperar in 24-72 hours, if the soreness persists please feel free to give me a call.

PNT (Peripheral Nerve Technique)

A technique used for more sensitive nerves and the beginning of the healing process. The treatment may not feel like a traditional massage but I can be just as effective. It uses the process of reciprocal inhibition around the muscle belly to relieve tension in that specific area. It is a lenghthy process and takes about a few sessions to cover larger areas, in this case I will recommend that a package is purchased.

Gua Sha

A treatment used to help break down scar tissue with a flat edge. Scar tissue is a dense tissue laid down, in no particular order, to strenghen the muscle in the process of healing after and injury. The tissue will feel stiff and tough, and you may feel restricted movement in the area. Bringing the tool in, it catches on the stiff tissue and irritates the scar tissue and alert your body to send in cells to clean up the area. Don't be concerned with the bruising that appears, it is part of the natural healing process. It should be sore for 24-48 hours after.
